Community Montessori School, located in Lake Oswego’s River Grove neighborhood (just a couple of minutes off I-5), offers a traditional Montessori environment for children ages 2 years to 6 years old.
Children who attend CMS are provided a unique opportunity for self development in a tender atmosphere of special understanding, respect, and support.
CMS is owned and guided by Ginger Barker, a certified AMI teacher of 20 years. Ginger holds a BA in Social Science from PSU and a Masters in Education from Endicott. CMS adheres to the ideals and proven learning methods of Dr. Maria Montessori, while offering flexible scheduling and unique programs.
After being a teacher in the Montessori community for over 10 years, I saw numerous families in need of a quality toddler program. When my youngest son turned 16 months old CMS was born; a program that offers a traditional Montessori classroom with flexible part time or full time enrollment. I feel privileged to be a part of each childs early learning experience. -Ginger Barker, mother of two
With this in mind, Ginger opened the doors of CMS in the Fall of 2010.
